Rainrace Network - Amy Clifton
Amy Clifton’s has a Ph.d. in structural geology. Her current research involves the study of recent earthquake rupture, specifically how what we can see at the surface relates to what is happening at depth.
Much of Amy’s work involves the use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to integrate geological field data with geophysical and geodetic data. All of Amy’s recent research has been conducted in Iceland, where surface-rupturing earthquakes in 1998, 2000 and 2003 provided a "natural laboratory" for studying how faults fail in response to tectonic stresses.
